Apply For Funding

This scholarship was established to honor Kate Pelosi, an Oregon nurse-midwife whose innumerable contributions to her profession have stretched over 30 years.  From grassroots legislative lobbying which led to Oregon’s independent practice for CNM’s to founding and presiding over the Oregon ACNM Foundation, Kate has been a force of nature. It is fitting that this scholarship will encourage future leaders in our profession.

Purpose

The scholarship is intended to award an Oregon midwifery student who has made outstanding contributions to the Oregon ACNM Affiliate.

Funding 

Funds will be provided by the Oregon ACNM Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization formed to support the mission and purposes of the Affiliate.  The scholarship is designed to cover registration fees and basic expenses for the recipient to attend the ACNM Annual Meeting and Exhibition (estimated at $2,000).

Basic prerequisites

• Desire to attend the Annual Meeting

• Current Oregon midwifery student 

• Current ACNM and Oregon Affiliate member

• Significant volunteer contributor to the Oregon Affiliate 

Responsibilities of recipient

Attendance at ACNM’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition

Participation in the Affiliate’s Midwifery Market if applicable

Reporting back to the Affiliate on highlights of the Meeting and submitting photos of activities

Method of selection

Funding will be provided by the Oregon ACNM Foundation.  The Oregon ACNM Affiliate will select the recipient.
